Why Your Quota Is Not Too Low

Assuming you have a team of sellers who are genuinely motivated by money.
Contrary to popular belief, the quota is not the incentive or the motivation.
The incentive comes from uncapped commission.
The motivation comes from competing for highest revenue on the team.
A quota serves as nothing more than a financial planning mechanism.
The real benchmark for any elite sales team is whatever the top rep is doing.
That said, a quota that's too high will frustrate and demotivate the team, reaping their worst possible attitudes and performance (then they quit).
Lower quotas are actually better for driving more revenue by fostering an environment of winning.
