AI SDR Myth Busters Blog Number One

Here's what I've learned about AI SDR technology so far:

The internet is filled with rage-bait on this subject, mostly coming from people who have no way of knowing the truth.

I aim to put a dent in that communication barrier through my partnership with AiSDR, where I'm receiving access to the REAL data and insights. 

Each month I'll share some myth-buster style learnings. 

Here we go...

1. The first myth is that AI is replacing salespeople

This is not true because to replace salespeople would mean salespeople cased to exist after AI, and this is not the case. What is true is that AI is replacing repetitive and predictable tasks for salespeople so they can be more efficient with their time. The result may be fewer salespeople on each team, but not the replacement of salespeople.

2. The second myth is that AI SDR technology works for any company.

This is not true because developing a successful and repeatable outbound sales process remains an extremely complex and time consuming process that is best done manually, by humans. A good AI SDR company will tell their prospective customers that if they haven't already tested and proven a repeatable and predictable outbound email motion, that attempting to figure this out with AI would be foolish. AI is best implemented with the intention of repeating something that humans have already proven to be successful and repeatable.

Today, the best AI SDR companies focus their initial sales calls on qualifying prospects out rather than in because the demand is so high and everyone wants to try it, but not everyone should.

3. The final myth of the month is that AI SDR technology sends low quality spam.

This is an extremely lazy critique because it's subjective to the way the tool is used. As with any email automation, bad input equates to bad output. AI SDR technology is no different in this regard. This is why qualifying the right ICP to use the tool is such a critical first step.

If they have an email process that's proven to be successful and repeatable, then an AI SDR is simply trained over time to repeat those exact same actions, resulting in the same quality and consistency your human SDRs would produce. The only way AI SDR is pushing low quality spam is if you set it up to do so, no different than training an SDR to do the same.

Lastly, remember that technology evolves and improves over time, similar to humans but with fewer repeat mistakes.

So the mere fact that AI SDR is working for some companies today, means it will continue to work for more as the technology improves it's intelligence and expands into a wider ICP over time.

I caution anyone who sleeps on this technology or easily dismisses it because there will come a day when it's undeniably the most efficient way to manage an outbound email motion-- leaving your reps with more time to spend on the phones speaking to qualified prospects.
