VP of Sales Recruitment Is Chaotic

VP of Sales Recruitment Is Chaotic

VP of Sales hiring processes are chaotic and all over the place.

They’re either figuring it out for the first time.

Or they screwed it up once and now they’re trying something new.

They act like they know what they’re looking for.

But really they’re just searching for comfort.

Your job isn’t to wow them with past achievements.

It’s to figure out what they need to hear to become comfortable hiring you.

Get straight to the root of their discomfort.

Focus on building confidence in those areas.

Don’t pitch your accomplishments.

Your resume already did that.

Ask specific questions that determine your ability to succeed in the role.

Great questions earn more points than reiterated accomplishments.

Interviewing for executive roles is entirely different than less senior roles.

The best executives focus more on interviewing the company than they do on letting the company interview them.

The CEO is not interested in mentoring, coaching, or training you.

They’ve usually never done the job themselves.

They’re looking for someone who can take immediate control.

That’s it.

Don’t over complicate it.

Show them that you got this.
