Salesforce Surveyed 5k Salespeople
Aug 21, 2024Salesforce surveyed 5,500 salespeople worldwide.
Here's what they found:
1. Sales are up, but so are new pressures
2. AI adoption surges, calling for trustworthy data
3. Sales teams turn to enablement as growth tactic
4. Employee retention is rising, but vulnerable
The 2 most alarming stats:
1. Reps spend 70% of their time on non-selling tasks
2. 83% of teams with AI saw revenue growth VS 66% of teams without AI
It's a lengthy report with a lot to digest, but the key takeaways from my perspective focus on the two stats above.
In other words, while market conditions are making sales more difficult because of reduced spend and buyer hesitancy, sellers are most successful making up for those losses by becoming more efficient and enabling themselves to do more with less (focusing on AI and enablement).
If you’re not already using AI to automate as many non-selling tasks as possible, that’s the area of focus I see as a “must” today. Things like meeting summaries and CRM data entry are now tasks humans should not be spending their time on.
Start there and you should be able to increase the amount of time salespeople are spending talking to actual prospects.
Happy Selling,
