Money Hungry Salespeople for the Win

Salespeople who are hungry for money always seem to figure it out.

1. They find solutions to their own problems
2. They work harder when things get harder
3. They're focused when everyone else is distracted

They tend to have bigger reasons for needing their income, whether it's family related or the desire to achieve certain goals; the money drives them.

Then there are those who are comfortable with their base salary. 

The commission is nice to these folks but they aren't truly hungry for it. 

If work ends at 6:00 PM, they're done at 5:58 PM and headed out for drinks with friends. 

Meanwhile the salespeople mentioned above are looking for clients to have dinner with so they can kill two birds with one stone. 

Never under-estimate one's hunger for money during sales recruitment. 

It can quickly supersede most skills and other attributes. 

Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard. 

Hard work in sales is always fueled by the hunger for money.

Hire hungry salespeople, it works. 

And so do they.


There are basic ingredients that make up a great salesperson.

Energy, wit, intelligence, ability to learn, etc.

These all play big roles in one's success but arguably the most consistent predictor of success I've witnessed throughout my career is how hungry the person is for the actual income.

It seems to drive people to do things you may otherwise not have thought they could do.

The same is true in reverse, someone may be perfectly capable but never truly achieve their true potential because they just don't need it bad enough.
